I can see Cleary now…

I recently caught up Paul Cleary, Defender with St Patrick’s Athletic FC.

How do you reckon Pat’s will do when the season starts back up?

I think we will be competitive and ready to restart the season well, we’ve a few weeks to train now and get us back up to speed. We’re all hoping for plenty wins and good performances.

What has been the best moment of your career so far?

I would have to say winning the u17 LoI with Pat’s as Captain a few years back.  It was a brilliant season with a great set to play with great set of lads to play with.  Winning the Leinster Senior Cup last season with the first team was nice as well.

What club did you support as a child?

Chelsea and a big fan of the National team as well.

What was the first club you ever played for?

First club I ever played for was Esker Celtic in Lucan, I played there for 5 years I think from u7s to u11s, then I moved to St Kevin’s Boys and then Pat’s.

That’s all thanks for your time!

No worries at all, anytime 👍🏻

Should Liverpool be given the league?

Liverpool are having an historic season.

They are 25 points ahead of Manchester City who are second and they only need four wins to confirm the title which they have not won since 1990.

It would cause major problems for Liverpool to be crowned champions now because three teams go down to the Championship every year so if the league is given to Liverpool the three bottom teams would have to be relegated.

These same three teams still have a chance of staying up in the Premier League this season.

However, if Liverpool are not given the title this year they could drop in form and never again win the Premiership.

In addition, in the Championship, lots of teams are doing well but Leeds are doing amazing in first place with 71 points. If the league ends now and the season is cancelled, Leeds will not go up to the Premier League.

I’m a Liverpool fan and I think Liverpool should only be given the league if they mathematically win it when, or if, the league returns.
